I know I have mentioned this before on my blog, but Jas has an awesome Grandma. I seriously think she forgets that she's not 30 anymore. I'm really not sure what her secret is, but I NEED to find out. We don't get to visit much but when we do she welcomes us into her home with a hug and greets the boys at eye level. On holidays she is still slaving in the kitchen making yummy food taste just right. The relationship that she has with her husband is something I hope we have after being married that long. I will always remember the story she tells about how she had been making potato pancakes (i think that's what it was) for 40 plus years and finally one day she ask her husband if he liked them and he finally admitted (after she had been making them for 40 years) that he really didn't care for them. Man I guess I'm just to mean because Jasper made fish the other night and it tasted exactly like typing paper!! I can't imagine eating it for 40 years and then telling him "um honey....i really don't care for your paper fish". Anyway she's an amazing woman!!
She got Tyse a birdhouse for Christmas, he has had it put together for quite a few weeks, but just this morning got it painted. He is sure that the birds will be fighting over who gets to live in it. I am terrible at writing out thank-you's so thanks Grandma for all the wonderful Christmas presents. Yea!! You think she won't see this blog post?!?!!? SHE READS BLOGS TOO!!!!

Jack was the first baby of the new year 3 years ago....on January 4th. I will always remember the Sabetha Herald coming into my room about 24 minutes after giving birth and wondering if it would be "ok" to take picture for the front page. My response: Um....would you mind coming back tomorrow?

....tonight we went on our annual Christmas deer hunt. We used to take a nice relaxing trip around town stopping first at Ampride to get a cup of hot cocoa. Now we have spit flying and lots of screaming when we come upon a deer!!

I think this story was one of those that you needed to hear to think it was funny. Since this is kind of my "scrapbook" I wanted to document it. Jack was telling a 10 minute story (maybe a bit exaggerated) about a moose who kept bonking his head on a bucket. He thought it was the most hilarious story ever. When the story was over Tyse said "Jack that's not true"... Jack says... "yea but it was funny." Tyse is alot like me in a way that he typically has no problem saying how he really feels.

....Jack and I still use a sippy cup. Yep it's true!! Jack will be 3 in January and he still uses a sippy cup. No, not just at nap time or bed time, pretty much whenever he wants. I really don't care cause there are other things I'd rather worry about. Now with Andrew it would have been a different story. Say I was browsing the internet and I read somewhere that a baby should be done with a sippy cup at 18 months then that was it....I would have taken it away from him that night. With old age and 2 more boys I have learned to go with the flow unless it is hurting them or someone else. I'm beginning to think this sippy cup addiction may be hurtful to him. You see, when he has his cup he also wants his pup (stuffed dog) and he loves to twirl his hair. Here is what happened the other night. His finger was actually stuck in his hair!!

....I mean seriously!?!?!?!? Normal is a relative term around these parts, but is this normal? School started August 18th and we are already through (there is actually a hole clear through them) our first pair of shoes. These are (were) a nice pair of school shoes that I was hoping would last till at least December-aint gonna happen folks. Now, now calm down-- I'm so THANKFUL for a boy that is able to run and get exercise but even with a knife in hand I cant see how this could happen in less than 2 months. Granted, these are the shoes he wears everyday to school BUT COME ON!! Oh well, good thing we have a trip to the city planned.

As much as I begged and pleaded my husband was not going to allow for a privacy fence to go up...never....ever on this property. So I went for the next best thing, bushes that will get pretty tall...well, tall enough for a little privacy anyway. Who knew this-computer nerd could plant me 4 bushes AND grass all in the same weekend?!?! Although I think he took in plenty of advise from the BIL he did do it on his own. YEA!!

Branson 2011

It was fun to take a family vacation to Branson--no diapers and no bottles-the first time in 11 years. We went a few months ago-I wanted to go somewhere fairly close and remembered going to Branson as a kid....so you know how it is....we want our kids to experience the same stuff that we did as kids. Jamie is an organizer freak-she made us out a whole booklet of what do to and good places to eat....we would have been lost with out it. Here are some picts'

You know how the shows are....they take pictures before you go in and then when you come out they want you to buy them for a couple grand. Well, I'm pretty sure these are just as good and cost MUCH less.

Mom brought this plant and note over on Monday (Andrews birthday). I know if grammy were still here she would love hanging out with my boys and especially cooking for them.

Tyse has a good friend named Mel, who has a pedal tractor collection. He has 65 + pedal tractors that he has restored and alot of pedal cars also. Mel agreed to have his pedal tractors on display during the BBBS tractor cruise last weekend. It was very convenient because Mel shares a driveway with my parents. All the big tractors cruised to mom and dads on their route then stopped in front of their house to see all the pedal tractors on display. Its great to have friends that share your same interests. :)

Jamie and I made a deal that during the summer I would watch Livie one day a week if she would agree to make Andrews birthday cake. So Jamie and Andrew had a interview and this is what she came up with....he was surprised...I was surprised that she could make such a "boyish" cake....and look and Greg, he was so proud of his wife. Andrew was starting to get blisters from his old baseball cleats so I bought him some new ones yesterday (hopefully they will fit next year too). These shoes that are a thumb width to big for him are ALSO a thumb width to big for his momma.

Enjoying summer, but crazy busy. Between baseball, t-ball, library activities, swim team we are having a fun summer. A few photos to recap and hopefully get-to-going on this blog again.
Some of these pictures are just plain terrible, was trying to figure out how to use the camera.

Date night with the Strahm's at Em Chamas (in St Joe.). Thank goodness for good company cause the food was......TERRIBLE....well, i shouldn't say TERRIBLE because everyone else LOVED it.

Here is a picture of the food (or should i say meat) on Jamies plate. Yea, all that red stuff is meat BLOOD---sick. I re-named the restaurant E-I-E-I-O, you know like the kids song old macdonald. They seriously had every kind of meat that you would find on a farm all half cooked and put on a huge skewer. Then you had this coin that was green and red- whenever you wanted them to cut you off more meat you had your coin on green then when you decided that you have gorged yourself enough with bloody meat you turned your coin over to red. Then the meat would stop coming around. They would keep coming and coming around (seriously it was like a parade of meat) cutting the meat off the skewer- blood dripping off the whole time until you would flip your coin. I think I waited patiently for 2 hours for these 3 carnivores to get done eating meat. Don't get me wrong I love me some good meat but this was just to much for me to handle.

Here was one of the poor guys I had to keep lying to when he ask how the meal was.

The boys have a "kind of grandma" that we like to go and visit once in a while. She is in the process of getting her zoo license, but until that is finalized we'll have to stick with miniature donkeys, goats (both fainting and regular) kittens, dogs, chickens, rabbits and roosters. Here are a few pictures---the baby donkey (only a few days old) and the boys playing with the goats. We are especially excited to see the miniature cow when it arrives.

Tyse was pretty proud (the momma was pretty proud as well) after he wrote out the alphabet this morning. You just never know with him- sometimes he is willing to do his "homework" and other days he doesn't want anything to do with it. Some of the letters are upside down and backwards but.....at least it's a start. There is also a caterpillar in the middle-I guess he needed a break halfway through.

Breakfast is hard for us during the week. Trying to find something fast and healthy sometimes is a struggle. When I don't feel like cooking it's cereal that I turn to. We were out of cereal so I had Jasper run to the store. Wheaties, cheerios, honey bunches of oats and oatmeal square cereal is the boys choice....something half-way healthy. Heres what Jas came home with.

So this morning I gave the boys a choice of being on a sugar high all day or being on the toilet all day. Apparently he doesn't know what fiber can do to your body....heres what the internet said....

Effects of too much fiber:
Gas, diarrhea, general abdominal discomfort, constipation, possible blockages, or the need for urgent movements.

Anyway, I have no idea what I will ever do with that humongous box of lucky charms....its huge.

All of a sudden the vacuum is sounding like its sucking something up.... you know like when you accidentally suck up a stray sock. Yea, well he came to me and said "theres hole in it"....the vacuum was sucked up against our leather chair and the brushes were going full throttle.

I'm not much into valentines day, but heres how the day went down. I got a couple of surprise packages in the mail...a brand new bottle of shaklee (its a good thing, because I was rinsing out my last one today at lunch)....and a label maker. Next to cleaning, I love to organize so this will come in handy. Who knows what will be labeled next time you come to my house. For supper Jas grilled steak filet, mashed potatoes, corn and homemade bread. It was scrumptious. Last but not least, this weekend when Jas and Tyse were at the store Tyse saw some roses and told him that he needed to get them for mommy so she could feel like a princess. He is sure gonna know how to treat a woman right someday....he's just so thoughtful sometimes.

Don't let this candlelit dinner fool you. Just minutes before this picture was taken there was chaos, fighting and screaming going on at the Frazee residence.

If you remember from a previous post, the plastic cockroaches made an appearance on the thermostat. Well, they have migrated to my filthy griddle that has been sitting in the sink for almost 24 hours. I know this is really gross, but I fried up hamburgers yesterday for lunch and wasn't in the mood to clean it up. I'm actually impressed with myself that it is still setting there dirty....and I have no intentions of cleaning it today either. I may be coming out of this OCD of cleaning all by myself.

When I asked Andrew if he knew anything about cockroaches on the griddle he just giggled. I love a boy with a good sense of humor!!

3rd grade music program

We have a great 3rd grade music teacher, she has about as much energy as Jasper and a 3rd grader combined....if there could be such a thing. This year their program was titled MAKING A DIFFERENCE, they had a food drive and will be delivering the food the the local food pantry next week.

GWL and JOE'S CRAB SHACK

Every year for Christmas Jasper gets a "getaway gift" from CJF, this year it was great wolf lodge. Swimming in the winter is fun, especially after the snow storm we just had. Not sure if it was relaxing, but it was fun anyway.

Andrew was the most excited about Joes Crab Shack. Sea Food in the middle of Kansas-was actually pretty good.

HELLO !

A “few days ago” ...or weeks ago.... G threw me the phone bill and says....”Do something about that!”

So me, being a geek and a research addict, I started researching VOIP providers.

VOIP =- Voice Over Internet Protocol. It's kind of like SKYPE, but it doesn't go through a computer......just the Internet. It didn't take long for my elementary math skillz to slap me up side the head.... DUDE..Thats a $140 per month savings !!!

Ok, on the surface it sounds good, but what about quality and all the mushy details that we will notice and possibly hate if it's a joke.. I turned to the reviews on the many tech websites that I love. User reviews are good, but you have to take them as a grain of salt....I mean the user that gives things a 1 star saying that it never works....are they for real or are they just dumber than a box of rocks? On the other side of the coin there is the guy that says it's better than sliced bread and has really only used it once in the last 3 months.

Anyway........the company I chose to try is ITP. So far it has been great! Great sounding crisp calls.

Tons of features including voice mail, multiple phone lines, call routing, call forwarding, and call waiting which includes some good ole' music for the party on hold to listen to! We were able to keep our same phone number and the best of all... the plan we went with only cost $9.99 per Month !!!

WOOO HOOOOO! YEEEEP PEEEEE!

Phone service post coming tonight, but here's this while you wait. Apparently I inherited the same disease as my grammy and gpa plattner. Grammy and grandpa were never in agreement of what the heat should be set at, same with Jas and I. He likes it at 72 I like it at 68. I know you can't tell from the picture but those are 2 plastic cockroaches on top of our thermostat-that was my attempt to scare Jas away.

If you pay an AT&T bill every month you wont want to miss this guest blogger. Every time I look at the AT&T bill I want to scream. Up until a few years ago I never actually looked to see what I was paying for on my bill, I just wrote the check and sent it out. Next time you get your bill look at it. Seriously, do we really need....highway tax, shoe tying tax, fingernail tax, sewer tax on a PHONE bill? Ok, Ok it's not really that bad-we aren't ones to talk on the phone much and Jas has a cell phone through work so paying $150.00 a month seemed a bit high. I thought it would only be appropriate for my guest to share their new found wisdom with my blogging friends....even if your a sneaky snake reader, feel free to call AT&T and tell them to "hit the road" like we did. It doesn't have anything to do with getting a cell phone-I don't want a cell phone and never intend to have one.

Country folk must really be drifted in, because it doesn't seem bad at all in town. Anyway, who knew how much fun colored water in a squirt bottle could be.

Jack isn't much interested in playing in the snow, when he starts getting the slightest bit cold he's done. If he'd keep his gloves on it might help, but try telling a 2 year old that. :(

Andrew thought it would be a good idea to spray yellow around every tree in the neighborhood.

We are enjoying snow day #2. It has been a nice fluffy snow and the boys (well, mostly Tyse) have spent quite a bit of time outside. I'm sure in a couple of months that I will be ready to see it go bye, bye but for now I actually like it.

Here's the bead that almost cost me a doctors visit. Jack was loading beads up in his dump truck and apparently thought it would be a good idea to put one up his nose. I tried and tried to get that sucker out and it wouldn't budge. Poor Jack, he kept saying "get out, get out". I called the clinic to see if they could get me in. They said come on up- so I put on his coat and was getting ready to go. The whole time I was thinking to myself "am I really going to pay a doctor to get a green bead out of my sons nose"? I dug and dug again and finally could see it good enough to see what was going on. Apointment canceled: got it out. Thankgoodness. It was funny because I saw our doctor out and about this weekend and she made the comment that she hadn't seen us in a while.

So apparently I'm the only one in the USA that didn't know about theses videos. Thank-you Jenny for introducing them to me!! We were headed to Topeka on Sunday so we picked them up. I had started working on letters with Tyse at the beginning of the school year and didn't feel like he was "getting it" like I thought he should be. Alot of it is his personality, but its not fun to do something everyday and feel like your making no progress. The one we are watching now teaches letter sounds and letter names. Its awesome, Jack even loves it. I catch him making some of the sounds too. It was definitely a great find.

I'm not usually a fan of toy boxes, but this one has been awesome. Jaspers grandpa made if for Andrew when he was little. I know this is a horrible picture, but it has shelves and a big section in the bottom for lots of random toys. It also makes a great place to sit after all the toys have been thrown out. It's at least 7 years old and its still one of their favorite things to play in.

Really the only thing I put up is the tree, to many little fingers to break all that other kind of cutesy stuff. The boys decided they needed lights in their room so that was kind of fun for them to do.

Shaklee and Norwex

First of all, I love shaklee. If there is one thing I don't like about shaklee it is their window cleaner. If you don't know anything about shaklee, BH2 (hence the blog name) is the main cleaning concentrate that I use. Whatever you are cleaning, you just dilute differently. When I tried the "window cleaner" I wasn't exactly impressed with what my windows looked like when I was done. I had tried everything that I had ever read that was supposed to clean a window.... vinegar, newspaper, windex, baking soda, baking powder, lemon juice, pureed avocado and blueberry juice. Now I'm talking a good clean window... no streaks and no lint. Then
I came upon these..."rags". They really don't deserve to be called "rags", but that's what I call them. It's a product called Norwex and they know how to clean a window. Streak free. They also claim to be antibacterial, which isn't really important that my windows are anti bacteria but it's definitely a plus. They are guaranteed for 2 years and they are absolutely AWESOME. Try them, you wont be sorry. Seriously, all you need is these 2 "rags" and some H2O and you will have some streak free, lint free anti bacteria clean windows.

You'd think a mother would know pretty much everything about her boys. Well, I learned something new last night when Andrew came home from AWANA....apparently he wants to be a priest when he grows up. When I showed the paper to Jas he said that Andrew has told him many times that he thinks he would like to be a priest ("you know dad, like pastor Charlie"). For those of you who don't know, Charlie is our pastor at Northridge. A few weeks ago they were in Charlies office looking at his swords. He thought that was pretty cool, maybe he thinks all pastors have swords in their office. I think he would make a great pastor....we shall see....

A very proud little boy as he received his first AWANA patch last Wednesday. I believe the verse was "God is truthful". It took a couple of times, but he is now going by himself. He is so excited to go every week he can hardly wait for Wednesday to roll around.

Jack has had quite the obsession with poop. Im not sure if I can blame this on "just being a boy" but for some reason he loves to talk about poop. When we went to the zoo last weekend he really was more interested in looking at the elephant poop than caring about what the elephant was doing. As we were getting done with supper last night I put Tyse in the tub so he and Jas could head out the door to AWANA . Tyse had gotten out of the tub and was upstairs putting on his clothes, to get the process moving a bit more quickly I hurried up to help. We were almost ready to come down and little Jack starts saying POOP, POOP, POOP. Tyse thinks its hilarious when he says it and starts laughing. You know sometimes as a Mom you get that feeling like OH NO, kind of like you want to close your eyes and go to bed or just plug your ears and act like you didn't hear it?!?!?!?! Yea, I had one of those feelings. And I was right.......ewwwwwwww

Since Jas was busy at the church all day on Sat. we decided to check out the Topeka zoo. I don't think I had been there since our last field trip in Elementary school. Somehow I convinced Nick to go and help me, although its a small zoo Tyse has a tendency to want to go off and explore on his own. Its no Omaha, but they have done alot of work to keep it up. There was a baby giraffe and baby hippo, which was the highlight.

We are loving the start of Awana. Tyse wasn't to sure about it at first, but since uncle Nick is back in Sabetha he started taking him. Now he loves it and can't stop talking about what all he got to do there. Last week Tyse told Nick he would pay him 2 dollars to take him back to Awana. Poor Poor Nick...he might be stuck doing it for awhile.

PS.... if you have a facebook account I ask that you add the one and only.... Jasper Frazee as your friend. I am finding this quite humorous because he was forced to sign up for an account. You see, he is spending this Sat. running a live broadcast for Womens fellowship at church. He had to get a facebook account so he could send off the questions that the women wanted to ask. He was trying to find a way around it, but was unable to. I told him that he would feel really special because he would have at least 200 "friends" by the end of the day.

Tyse needed something to keep himself busy (out of trouble). I gave him the job of putting the tater tots on the casserole. I had already mentally prepared myself that it was ok if he simply opened the bag and dumped them on. I was pleasantly surprised when I came to check and he was lining them up neatly in the casserole dish. He was very proud of himself.

I cant help but get a little excited on every other Thursday. Bed washin' day. I remember that my mom would wash all the beds every week, not sure how she had time for that. Since the boys take a bath every evening before hopping into bed, I don't find weekly bed washes completely necessary. So there was complete freshness today as I washed the sheets and made the beds with a nice cool breeze comming through the windows. I can't wait to tuck them into a nice clean bed tonight. I'm sure they will share the same excitement and thank me many, many times for a clean bed. HAHA

Never. That's what I said when some friends said their kid was going out for 3rd grade tackle football. What I was thinking was "All these moron parents who think they have to do everything." Why in the world would you want to start so early? We never touched a football or volleyball until 7th grade. After some discussion, we decided to give it a try. It has been alot of fun for Andrew and he has learned alot about how the game is played. The coaches seem to be doing a great job of teaching them and not getting to fired up. So, never say never or it will come back to bite you in the butt!!

Ringo (Jills last cat) has been replaced. Ringo died a few weeks ago as he was walking to eat breakfast out of his bowl. Poor, Poor Ringo. What a way to die-on your way to breakfast. To bad he couldn't have had one last meal. Anyway, after an appropriate funeral and a special cat prayer we were on the search for another cat. Ringo has been replaced with Ole' Black Joe. The boys love Joe, especially Jack.

THE RECENT RAIN WONT HELP GREEN IT UP SO DONT THINK YOU ARE CONSOLING ME BY CALLING AND SAYING "I BET YOUR GLAD FOR THIS RAIN SO YOUR YARD WILL GREEN UP". WE SPRAYED IT WITH ROUND-UP TO KILL IT, ON PURPOSE!! We will be reseeding it this weekend. Im beyond excited about it.
