MMMM....

Andrew was pretty excited to pass out the gifts he brought home for everyone. I'm pretty sure I got the best one, these cupcakes didn't disappoint!! We all tried a bite or two of each one and the rest went into "hiding" for when I need a sweet treat. Now I'm finding little crumbs coming off the plate that was in hiding. Shucks!! They found them.

homemade diving board...

Now come on, who hasn't ever tried to make a homemade diving board. This one is made with a container, 2 wooden card holders, 2 wooden puzzles and lots of scotch tape.

Andrew started out trying to give some advise, but apparently the engineer didn't want any so Andrew left.

lots of tape....

making sure the underneath has plenty of tape....

one of those days last week when....

....it was about a million and a 1/2 degrees out and the boys were playing inside oh so good, I decided on a whim to skip nap time. Since kdg. is slowly sneaking up on us I wanted to see if ole' Tyse could hack it without a nap. My boys are sleepers. I love that. I was getting supper ready and went to the living room to check on them and they were out like a light. Both on separate sofas snoozing away. We do get to bed late in the summer so it wasn't really a true test. I'm sure he wont fall asleep during rest time in kdg. but I remember how exhausted Andrew was those first few weeks.

who was in charge of the sunscreen? + EDITED VERSON

Jas fired me from being in charge of the sunscreen ever again, but come on it was a little windy.

Apparently this was a very confusing post to some people (FAS). So, for those of you who didn't understand it here is an edited version. We were at oceans of fun and I was in charge of putting sunscreen on Jasper Frazee. It was pretty windy that morning which resulted in an uneven spray which in turn caused him to have a blotchy sunburn. I thought it was a lot funnier than he did.

ooey gooey lady

When I went to a conference that this lady held on a Sat (see links below). I had a very bad attitude. Pretty much all that was going through my head during the driving time was "this is such a waste." She ended up being awesome and if you ever get the chance GO!! Go listen to what she has to say. I learned so much and have since tried to adopt some of what she has to say. I'd love to get her to speak in our school system sometime.

This is an older one, but its great!! Worksheets used to be a very high priority to me when working with the boys. I still think its important that they are able to sit and finish a project on paper but not nearly as important as I thought. There is more important things to work on. What do you think?
