ItS ThE LiTtLe ThInGs...........

Andrew usually isnt impressed with my pancake making skills-until I gave him this for breakfast...it kept him thinking for awhile.

Tyse on the other hand, is easily impressed with pretty much anything out of the ordinary. For those of you who cant see it...its a tractor, complete with a smoke stack (the most important part). OK.........just use your imagination.

ItS ThE LiTtLe ThInGs...........

As I was folding laundry I just had to SMILE at these pants of Tyses.......knees almost worn out. Its funny to look back and remember the things that used to make me SMILE-now that there are 3 boys around everything suddenly takes a different number on the priority list. How thankful we are for 3 active little boys!!

good ole' hank

I got to make a huge batch of chili this past weekend for a Christmas party. We were wondering how to transport it without slooshing it all around. Mom suggested a five gallon bucket, it worked wonderful. Head on up to Hardware Hank, and get your self a cheap soup transporter. The lid stays on very tight. (you have to use a pliers to get it off).

not sure why andrew needs to look like a army guy in all of the picts' lately-

board games

Andrew loves to play games, but its hard to find some that we all like to play (Jas ,Andrew and I). This is super fun, that's different everytime you play.

This has been an interesting game. Harder than you might think to say the wrong answer to questions, then have to switch over and say the right answer your next time around. FUN!!

ball popper

gotta love a ball popper-this is another one of our fav's--

thinking it might be time for a haircut!!

up and comming chef.....

andrew loves to cook and help in the kitchen. heres his latest, shrimp pasta.

"WOW" Toys

This little "WOW" brand dump truck has been awesome for the little boys. It has a spring loaded dumper that makes it easy for little ones to dump and the front has a see through window for your little driver. We got it for Tyse last year for Christmas. He has played with it alot and its fun to see Jack push it around now, making truck noises. Im sure most of you know about the "Toy Store" in Topeka (i think theres one in Lawrence too) its awesome, I promise you once you go into it you will never step foot in a "Toys R Us" again, at least we havent.

Fav' Toys

I thought it would be fun to post toys that my boys got last year for Christmas that they are still playing with A YEAR LATER. I love buying toys (mostly because thats all I do all day is play, basically they keep me sain) sometimes they are "one timer" toys that they will play with for a week or even a month then never pick up again. I try really hard to buy toys that they will not get tired of after a few months-which is really hard sometimes. Also, toys that are sturdy enough to endure lots of rough playing. You know if you have read this blog for any length of time that VIDEO GAMES DONT COUNT!! Hey, mabe you will get a Christmas present idea for your little guy or gal.

This first one that made the list is a big bass fish from Bass Pro. When Jasper bought them I thought they would just be taking up space. They have had so much fun with them sleeping on them, pulling as a sleigh, making forts, fishing. We'll see in the next few weeks how many I can come up with.

AWANA

Every Wednesday is AWANA and Andrew is loving it. Its a great program, he is always ready to go by the time 6:00 rolls around. He gathers up his AWANA bag, vest, Bible and quarter and is headed out the door without any prompting WhoooooHooooooo. He started a few weeks ago, and is hoping to get his first badge tonight!! They earn badges and jewels for learning Bible verses. Once in a while their teacher will give them other activities that they are supposed to try and do throughout the week. Once it was to read a devotion every day for a week (great lesson for Jas and I too), once she gave them a Bible verse and they were supposed to see how many people they could read it to in a week. Throughout the evening they are able to earn AWANA money which they save and are able to buy stuff at the AWANA store. Makes for a fun Wednesday evening.

HERE HE IS AT 8:20 AFTER HE GOT HOME......WITH HIS PATCH!! GOOD JOB ANDREW!!

hmmm....ugly or cute?

Last time we were in Topeka I found these "skidders" at Target. Decided they were cute and got a pair, I dont think they will be the last. Hmmmm... Im trying to figure out how to explain exactly what they are, its really hard to tell from a picture on the internet. Ok here goes, imagine if a sock and a shoe had a baby. YUP!! The top is like a sock and the sole is rubber like a shoe. I think they will be especially fun in the spring/summer with a pair of shorts. They have all different colors for both boys and girls.

Sundays are crazy with 2 little boys, but I did catch one great quote that Charlie said yesterday!! Not sure who orginally said it but here goes--"If Christ is risen, nothing else matters. And if Christ is not risen -- nothing else matters." Great HUH?!!?!?!

Merry Christgiving!!

Yep its true, the tree is up!! Go ahead and say its to early, its not even Thanksgiving, its ok we've already heard it. I mean do you really think that just because the tree is up we aren't thankful for everything we have, I mean seriously?!!?!? I decided that with 3 boys the tree just goes up when there is a bit of extra time lingering around!!

Happy Thanksgiving week to all!!

its the simple things..........

ItS TrUe-He'S gRoWiNg Up

This past weekend we moved some of our furniture and found this hat of Jacks. Jaspers aunt gave it to Jack when he was born, it was my favorite. We thought we would try it on for size, its will be one of those things I keep in the cedar chest for a long time. :)

a cousin halloween

We headed down town for the annual sabetha trick or treating, with the cousins. It was very windy and cold, we only made it half-way down main street until we decided enough was enough. It didnt take long for Kyley and Tyse to figure out how to get a piece of candy!!

For a little bit of randomness: I saw this quote today that made me laugh.

"the greatest thing about Facebook, is that you can quote something and totally make up the source.” – George Washington

In search of the best sippy cup...........

The searching has finally ended. We have been in search for the best sippy cup for.......well since Andrew was ready for one, over seven years ago. My kids aren't really "sippy cup kids" but they are nice to have once in a while. I've seen some kids get really attached to it, but we mostly use it for in the car or at restaurants. Its not that I never wanted them to get attached to it, they just never did. I guess they would rather use a cup and a straw, (by the way the best way to learn to use a straw is with a box of juicy, juice they will catch on quickly-Jack loves it) Anyway, there always seemed to be something we didn't like about it- either there were to many pieces to clean, or if you couldnt get them completely clean they would mold, (ewww) or the mouth piece was to hard, or they would leak....something. Well here it is, Dr. Brown has come through again (making the best bottles too) to make the best sippy cup. After I bought it I took it apart to clean, after putting it back together I turned it upside down and it leaked. Apparently
I had it put together wrong, because I was about to throw it away and decided to move the inside piece around and WooLaa..........we got a soft mouth pieced no leak sippy cup.

new pet??

This cat showed up a few weeks ago, and after being fed some warm milk and fish, has decided not to leave!! Im really not an animal lover, I simply like them because they are God creation and thats about as far as it goes. Anyway, it is a cute little cat and I have actually enjoyed its company. Tyse thinks its just the greatest thing!! Heres a short video.

no wonder tyse was so quiet this morning, as i was picking up i found these 3 apples laying randomly around the house.  apparently he found the bag of apples that i had just bought at the store.  you'd think a raccoon was living with us. :)

jack-o-lantern

The boys love carving pumpkins. They did their first one the other night, only about 5 more to carve, hopefully we will get that done before they rot!!

The final product

Sue P., this is a picture for you, when you complimented me on how clean my windows were- was that a joke or were you serious? This one isnt to clean!! :)
